IDEA

In 2019, vertical video was still finding its feet, especially in the music industry. At Warner Music, The Eye was an experiment in what music performances could look like on a phone. Using a crazy robotic arm, the camera got up close and personal with artists, capturing raw performances in a single take. YouTube Shorts didn't even exist yet, so the videos had to be uploaded in landscape.

The idea was ahead of the platforms built to host it. That didn't stop The Eye from generating over 25 million views and growing to 169,000 subscribers. More importantly, it brought fans closer to their favourite artists than ever before.
